The South Florida Center of Excellence (COE) represents a virtual campus for South Florida’s PMI community such as the chapter members, the private institutions and the non-profit and educational institutions, which promotes the knowledge and benefits of project management and the project management office (PMO)

The purpose of the COE is to develop alliances and partnerships with organizations to increase the knowledge and benefits of PMO’s and Project Management, and to contribute to membership value.

The South Florida chapter will increase the knowledge and benefits of PMOs and Project Management by:

• Educating the community at large of the benefits and impacts of Project Management activities.
• Promoting project management as a core competency and not only in the traditional fields of engineering and information technology, but companywide throughout all facets of the business environment.
• Creating a knowledge repository of project management best practices and methodologies.
• Creating a referral process for organizations seeking assistance.
• Assisting chapter member organizations with the development of an inventory of Project Management and PMO maturity levels.
• Actively increasing relationships with community professionals and educational organizations.
