As your 2007 President, I'd like to thank Denise Castelli for a year where we celebrated our 20th Anniversary, had our first collaborative Webinar and held a record breaking Professional Development Seminar. How do we top this in 2007?
This year my platform is to get "Back to Basics" and become the "Chapter with a Heart." We will strive to provide programs that have an added value to your membership. We will also contribute to our community and share our knowledge with other organizations that make a difference. This is my legacy to you.
As the Chapter grows, we need to adjust our plans accordingly. That is why we set some strategic goals for the next few years that will map a career path for the members and your board. These goals cannot be accomplished without your feedback. We always look forward to that feedback.
I am excited to host my first February meeting scheduled for February 8th as President with a PMO roundtable. Last year I hosted the Dade meetings and had so much fun. I believe I changed my title to "Director of Fun!" There will be many other events in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach that I will host along with your President-Elect, Patricia Garofano.
I'd also like to introduce Tricia Geary as your VP Professional Development. Tricia was a member of the 2006 Professional Development Seminar team and is eager to set the tone for this year. ?
Your 2007 board has a great lineup of events to help you achieve your goals. Whether its to achieve Project Management credentials like the CAPM, PMP or PgMP or increase your professional development through leadership courses, we have a program for you.
There are quite a few open board positions available. Please contact our Director of Volunteer Relations, Milton Carvajal for more information. As always, we cannot do this alone, it is with volunteers that want to make a difference. If you would love to make a difference and be a part of getting Back to Basics, please let me know.
